
The University's student radio station, 87.7 Utopia FM, is on air across the city. The station, which recently won a full time community licence, will bebroadcasting for two weeks.
Utopia FM will feature a wide range of new music and speech from student presenters and will be broadcast live from the award-winning Media Centre. The station will be broadcasting a wide variety of specialist talk and music programmes, featuring the popular music genres Hip Hop, R ‘n’ B, Indie and Rock. Utopia is working closely with Sunderland Schools to produce Community Hour, giving students from Sunderland High, Sandhill View, St Aidans and Farringdon the chance to broadcast across the city.
To accompany the broadcast there will be live music from the cities biggest club nights. Utopia Live will broadcast from Blu Bambu, Independent and The White Room’s to raise money for the SAFC foundation.
